I visited Kobe Beef Dia Shibuya, and honestly, it felt overrated.
Before this, I tried another place serving 200g Wagyu for 5,360 yen, and the difference in taste was almost nonexistent. Here, you’re paying significantly more without getting a noticeably better experience. The beef is good, but nothing exceptional that justifies the premium price.
What made the experience worse was the payment situation. The staff initially tried to take my card and process the payment away from me, which is not a professional or transparent practice. I refused and paid at the cashier instead.
Another issue is that they actively push customers to leave Google reviews by giving out QR codes on the spot. This likely inflates their ratings and doesn’t reflect an unbiased customer experience.
Overall, this place feels like it relies more on the “Kobe beef” label, tourist traffic, and manipulated reviews rather than real quality or value.
Verdict: Overhyped, overpriced, and misleadingly rated. Not worth the premium.
