My husband loved his experience here and left a positive review. I was a little less pleased. The restaurant has a funky smell of unknown origins. We were the only customers there for the two hours we were there. We were assisted by chef Miguel an American who is very friendly and warm. He showed us the meats in the package. He is a very good salesmen. The issues I have are that he never really let us alone to eat in peace. I felt like I couldn’t completely enjoy my meal or be with my husband because he was always there wanting to talk to us. Some talking is fine but I couldn’t really focus on my meal. It was very tasty. We got the one pound rib eye medium rare. For my own part, I couldn’t tell the difference between this Kobe beef Wagyu and a previous A5 we had had which was also very good but was significantly cheaper. Maybe it’s a me thing. Veggies and soup served with the meat were nice. The rice had hard bits like it had been sitting a while. Not what I expect at this highly premium price point. My impression is that this might be a bit of a tourist trap for those who have deep enough pockets to pay for it. Miguel was also quite pushy for us to leave a review right there in front of him before leaving the shop. On a more positive note he did try to make it special for us and he gave us ice cream and a special drink he made. The ice cream was especially good.
