Very decent experience! I got the second popular choice (second most expensive cut), and my husband opted for the most popular choice (a less expensive cut). The place was empty when we arrived for our weekday reservation, and another customer came in while we were eating. We greatly appreciated the beef and vegetables being cooked and cut in front of us with care. My husband went there because it's an experience I wanted during our travels... My cut was very satisfying, and though my husband said his cut was good, it was more average tasting. There is a one drink and food item per person requirement - and this isn't the only establishment in the area to have done this - even though my husband got a cheaper drink, our receipt looks like they charged us both the same price as my drink (maybe there's a standard baseline drink price?). I also didn't care to ask for a menu again to confirm the prices for the beef that we ordered. At any rate, we got to eat kobe beef in Shinjuku and it was yummy! More straightforward and not as expensive as another restaurant in the area, and it had a reputation for not being a tourist trap like an additional restaurant in the area.
