When the waitress brought out disposable chopsticks I knew that the reviews were inflated about the quality of service and food. I ordered the Kobe set special and was disappointed from beginning to end, starting from the disposable chopsticks that the store thought would be appropriate for handling premium meat. Whatever cut of meat used for the sashimi was too chewy. The teppanyaki steak was also chewy. The beef broth was gamey. Rice had become hard/dehydrated near the top like they didn't turn over newly cooked rice and just scooped off of the top. Salad was the only thing that tasted good, but the presentation made it look cheap with a streak of what looks like white mayo on top (and, I did not pay premium money for salad). Waitress spoke hardly any English but was friendly enough. Ultimately, the descrepancy between my expectations and reality was so great that I could not get out of there fast enough. I did visit another Kobe beef fine dining place that, for about 30% more, offered a truly 5 star experience over well-paced 6 courses using A5 Kobe beef. If you want a "real" Kobe beef experience, you owe it to yourself to do it "right" and splurge on fine dining costing marginally more, not on a place that uses disposable chopsticks.
