I'm writing this review because given our experience, I don't think this location deserves such a flawless rating (4.9 at the time of writing).
Let's get the good out of the way, the flavor of the food was quite good. We got 2 different cuts of their Kobe offerings, the premium at 10780 yen, and the fillet at 27280 yen, as well as a combo set add-on (soup, salad, dessert). At this price I was expecting good things and for the most part it did not disappoint. Service was excellent and the waiter and waitress spoke good English as well which was a plus.
That said, here are a few reasons why I only give them 3 (3.5 but I'm not allowed half stars).
- beef was delicious, but overly salty
- the place resembles a diner, so the meat was served on a plate instead of being grilled for you live. This meant that about halfway through our meal, the meat was stone cold
- atmosphere is what you'd expect for a diner like place, nothing fancy
Overall, I think for an intro to Kobe beef, this place is fine if you're willing to spend that money, but I think there are better locations for it for sure given how expensive it is
