The absolute worst teppanyaki experience we've ever had in Japan, or anywhere. The chef who cooked our Kobe beef didn't know which cuts of meat she was preparing, didn't know which direction to cut the meat and could hardly handle her spatula and knife because she had extremely long acrylic nails. She cooked our beef 3 separate times, searing it and cooling it down, then searing it and cooling it down again, then finally overcooking it. I was in shock the entire time watching her cook because it was apparent she had no idea what she was doing. We've paid half the price in Tokyo, Kyoto and Kobe for much better experiences than this. Most of all, I felt terrible that the beef that was raised so meticulously was being ruined with such inattention.
This was supposed to celebrate the end to an amazing trip but we were thoroughly disappointed.
